Genova Sturla Station Project
The project falls within the definition of “Smart and Easy Station” plan – integrated with design choices that aim to improve the entire area.
We designed minimally invasive aesthetic interventions and the rise and enlargement of the sidewalks, arranging suitable tactile tracks for the independent and safe accessibility of the visually impaired, with the insertion of two lifts serving the existing underpass.
Our work was focused on the design of the cantilevered extensions of the sidewalks, performed in continuity with the present architectural forms. The criticality of the whole project was represented by the excessive under dimensioning.
Through the refurbishment of the historical features of the parapets and metal railings, we maintained the historical-formal continuity of the station and its intrinsic historical value.
We have introduced – to give a vibe of modernity, lightness and transparency (open-air station) – a new vertical connections as well as the design of steel-glass construction combination.
